Biography

Candidate Statement: In 2020, young people aged over 16 were granted the right to vote, yet only 46% of 16-17-year-olds registered to vote.

This was a wasted opportunity to ensure that the voice of youth is heard and represented in Welsh Government.

Environmental campaigner Greta Thunberg has shown you are never too young to make a real impact in politics.

The Environment is one of the devolved powers of Welsh Government and the climate emergency makes this the most urgent agenda I will be pushing.

Related to this, Transport is a global issue where we can make a real difference on a national - and even a local - level.

Education is the third devolved power that I would make a priority as we need to address skills issues made so much worse by the interruptions of the pandemic. Furthermore every day a girl misses school due to period poverty.

The Welsh Youth Parliament has a key role to play in engaging young people in politics. As a former Head of School Council, I have the confidence, passion and enthusiasm to represent you and ensure that your voice is heard.

I will strive to make a real difference for young people.
